The crawl space must be heated and de-humidified. The crawl space should not be vented to the exterior. You must inspect your crawl space.

  • i put a big condom around my crawl space

  • Yes, and now you need to condition, heat, cool and de-humidify. Plus---- add A 100% sealed sump pump at wetest area.

    Radon Blanket works good.

  • I see these situations in 7 out of every 10 crawlspaces I'm in!! Well done .

  • 7 out of 10 is good. For us it is 10 out of 10.

  • VERY INFORMATIVE ! NICE JOB ....Amazing PICS !!! I hope you had PPE in that crawl space A~

  • Yes when I remember.

  • @bostontrav. But nature will still seep in.

  • Mold is a huge problem inside many of the crawlspaces here in Atlanta, due to the fact that most homeowners do not properly maintain their gutters and downspouts and exterior drainage. Clogged gutters and improperly installed downspouts discharging water too close to the home's foundation wall will always lead to water intrusion into the crawlspace areas below the home. Moisture inside your home or crawlspace will lead to mold growth, if not promptly addressed. See more @ AtlantaMoldTesting. com

  • Try the Crawlspace Eliminator Foundation vent fan

Works great for controlling crawlspace moisture problems

  • Some of these crawl spaces looks like Hannibal Lecter's lair.

  • I drilled a hole in my roof to vent the attic. They are called can vents and gable vents. LOL Just yankin' your chain, great info.

  • @faithsno1dad

I would not follow this advice either in fact sealing the crawl space may even be against building codes in some jurisdictions.

A temp vent that automatically opens at 78F and closes at 38F can be had for $23 a piece vs a $400 heating bill if you try and condition the crawl space like the rest of the house.

  • I'm glad I live in the South.

  • There is only one way RxRemedy Awesome Mold NEVER comes back and you can breath again!!

  • This information should not be applied for all situations. I'm in the crawl-space/Insulation trade for many years now. Venting a crawl space is a must in most conditions, having fans and/or positive air flow to avoid moisture build-up/damage. It is critical to vent crawls,Dehumidifiers in most causes prove pointless, and are exchanging the same air ratio as the out-side.Fans,air circulation and proper water sealant, and insulation will attribute/yield best results.Temp-vents are a great addition.

  • Mould will make you sick - VERY SICK.
