'The Greatest "Ho!" on Earth: The Lack of Evidence for Santa Claus'

by Richard Dawkins

read by Richard Dawkins & Lalla Ward

In his new 600 page book, Professor Richard Dawkins dismantles all the arguments for Santanism.

Page by page, he carefully debunks all the Clausian myths and shows how science is making inroads into some of the more difficult questions raised by Santalogians.

"A tremendous work - vivid, exacting and a darn good read! Dawkins, yet again, creates prose of stunning clarity that leave the reader in no doubt as to his message." - The Times

"Christmas will never be the same again! A brilliant book on every level." - Derren Brown

"It will be hard for anyone to believe in this stuff after reading this superbly written tome." - The Guardian

"A poetic diatribe for Christmas Future. Dickens would be proud." - New Scientist

".. puts Santa Claus, the reindeer and the elves firmly back in the toy box. Then locks it. Then nails it forever closed. A stunning work." - Time

"You'd be crackers not to read this dismantling of the National Elf Service" - The Spectator

"If only there were a Santa Claus. He would be delivering this marvellous book to every kid." - Ariane Sherine

This is the whole of Chapter 1, "The Red Cloak of Ignorance" read by Dawkins and his wife, Lalla Ward (who used to be in Doctor Who).

I don't own the rights, so please buy the book . It's well worth it.
Makes an ideal Christmas present.

  • Every theist would agree, “there never was, and there never will be a Santa Claus.” Why? Maybe because its a children's story. And only children belive in Santa. Oh yeah, and one other guy, publishing millionaire Richard Dawkins. Have you ever wondered what subject he would write about if people stop reading his atheist books? I attended one of his lectures; brilliant guy, but a bit of a narcissistic opportunist. There are much better "God does not exist" authors out there. Cool video.

  • @TheISITBIBLICAL

Children believe in Santa because it's what their parents tell them is a fact. Any other religion works exactly the same.

As for "what would he write about" - he's already written several books about evolution and genes, his main subjects. His one book on religion was a rare treat!

  • i am not comenting dis vid but how do u no my son is way too young to see kick ass who are u

  • @sjclemmy

    Who are you?

Your spelling suggests that you are the son and not the father at all.

Pay attention in school and it won't be so obvious next time.

  • WOW! This is good on many levels.

  • Thanks!

    Next Christmas, it's Chapter 16.

    "Mince Pies? What Mince Pies?"

It's about the Santanists' claim that science has not yet explained disappearing mince pies and sherry on Xmas eve- so it MUST be Santa Claus!

Using the analogy of a detective coming onto the scene of a theft, he carefully debunks the nonsense and presents extensive scientific studies into this phenomenon which shed new light on one of Christmas's greatest mysteries.

  • You missed the point. Dawkins only writes what sells, if stories about the Easter Bunny made money he'd be the first one out with a book on it. In other words, he is not writing to inform. Rather, he only writes to entertain. Ask him, he'll tell you the same thing -

  • dawkins is so limited

  • hmmm - greatest "hoe"??

I know Dawkins calls a spade a spade, but that's taking it too far!

  • @jazzx251

Of course...I know it's about Santa Claus NOW, but I clicked on this video in hopes of finding the greatest HOE on Earth. xD

    Nevertheless, it was funny. :)
