@codexdelux In addition they are also trained in Verbally Defusing a situation. In a situation where you honestly fear for you life and concerned for your family then striking first and running to safety (not eye gauging) may be an option.

I appreciate your comments. I agree with your statement. However, each situation is different. Our students are taught that striking first or predetermined self-defense is a personal choice. They also understand that there is a limit to the amount of force that can legally be used to defend yourself.

This seems more like marketing than like selfdefense.

"if i think my life is threaten'd and i need to get home, I STRIKE HIM FIRST"

o.k. so lets make a scenario:

You had been drinking, a guy came up to you and started threatening you verbally, he's saying he's gonna kill you. your afraid for your life and punch.

On the security footage shown in court 2 weeks later, you punch first smack him into the ground and go for the eye gauge. then you WILL end up in jail. this is NOT good advice!

#1 Confidence in yourself. #2 Your attacker isn't going to stand still, but will change position quickly or pull away. #3 Alot of dedication to your training is needed. No wonder the teacher wants a student that is ready to accept such a challenge of learning.

What's the most effective martial art??? You because you make it that way. Every style try's to form some 1 to there way of self defense a good martial artist is 1 who learns the weakness of human anatomy coupled with self defense options and you just pic what u want. Just studie all the differnt levels of combat striking grappling locking breaking inc and you be a good fighter. Good luck guys.
