I would like to be an automotive engineer so should I major in automotive technology such as in this school or major in mechanical engineering? Thanks!
i was really interested in going to this school im 19 and was wondering what is needed to goto this school i dont really have a big background of automotive but i have always wanted to become an automotive engineer since i was 10 and want to work for Porsche thanks for any advice
@AZchaitanyaaz1 That's the route I went. Got my AAS in auto tech at Triton in River Grove, then went to Ferris for my BS and now I work at GM makin 60k a year and goin up. Ferris is the way to go! Best of luck!
I'm a Ferris AET grad class of '11, I work at GM now as a powertrain engineer and I can tell you this program got me there. Its funny because I work with many other young engineers with standard ME degrees and most of them don't know a throttle body from an egr valve, absolutely now advanced knowledge of automotive technology, let alone a working knowledge. If you are considering an engineering career in the auto industry, Ferris is your best choice by far!
good program...the difference between an automotive engineer and an automotive engineering technologist is that the AE has the ability to design and optimize components where as the AET is good at testing and troubleshooting these components
Can't wait till I start next fall! :)
