Grossly insensitive and thoughtlessly offensive, I agree. But not done as an act of premeditated malice. If Brand and Ross deserved to be prosecuted for this then so did Bernard Manning, Jim Davidson and Roy Chubby Brown, and all those other performers of the pre-PC era. Let's not let a stupid stunt like this lead us to have too rose tinted a view of the past.

Worth quoting Alexander Armstrong "What was so funny about it was how grimly inappropriate it was. It was the nearest thing to slapstick I’ve ever heard on the radio.
