  • What a laid back position when playing!

  • @winrx I don't think anyone would want to patronize vienna philarmonic's principal cellist

  • The reason people clap when he starts playing is because it's Yo Yo Ma. The worlds best cellist, and the prelude he is playing is considered the most well known cello piece ever written. So having the worlds best player play the prelude (in CARNEGIE HALL) is like never seen before. I wish i could at least see hhim for real and even play with him.

  • @winrx WHY do you say this? Take your time to answer.

  • Unimpressive!

  • @winrx You have no musical taste, to be honest. If you honestly believe Yo Yo Ma, world renowned cellist, is vulgar and distasteful, how could you appreciate any music? My dad has played with Yo Yo Ma, personally witnessing how talented he is. Yo Yo Ma is an amazing cellist.

  • Is he really good friends with the principal cellist or is he just being patronizing? And yes, I think he is one of the most overrated musicians today and also one of the more vulgar and distasteful ones around.....

  • @TheStockwell that is an INCREDIBLE program. must have been a blast. I recently saw him play rococo variations, it was out of this world.

  • @Mizzles240 Well, in this video he's playing Bach (Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, BWV 100 -/Prélude). The full concert was Brahms "Tragic Overture," the Schumann 'Cello concerto (with Ma), and, after intermission, Dvorak Symphony Nr.9 "From the New World" - sort of a Big Deal since the work was premiered at Carnegie.
