'Love and Money' is the second single from Matt Langley's critically acclaimed debut album 'Featherbones'.
The video is set in an idyllic boatshed Wellington's Pauatahanui inlet. It follows the story of a young man remembering moments from his childhood as he builds a small boat. The area around his boatshed was once a playground where he played his guitar and sailed paper boats with a childhood friend, now lost and gone. As he finishes his boat he remembers these moments, sadly and fondly...
Filming was a collaborative effort with Kate Logan, Matty Warmington, Vanessa Patea, Ruth Korver and Emma Dougherty sharing the load behind the scenes. The cast includes Matt Langley, Grace Ewens, Holly Ewens, Noa Woolloff-Warmington and Jet the wonder dog.
'Love and Money' has spent several weeks in the top 10 charts on Kiwi FM, and follows Matt's first single, '7.13', which picked up an APRA Award in 2010 for New Zealand Country Song for the Year.
The 'Featherbones' album has also received universal praise from local press. The NZ Herald raved that "this is as good a debut singer-songwriter album as you could expect", and the Sunday Star Times said, "it is one of life's great simple pleasures to hear a voice like this".
Matt tours New Zealand this August with Darren Watson, and again in December with local support acts.
'Featherbones' is out now through Hometown Records NZ with physical distribution through Ode Records.
