thanks!
now all i need to do is find some....ebay time!

The longer the ski, the bigger friction... I am 183 cm and I use 160 cm skis, which I think is ideal :-)You can use longer skis, but you will be slower and it will be more difficult to control your skis
-
does it still work if you use normal size skis?

these are really "special" skis :-), as they are some 15 years old straight skis I found in the attic. No need for special skis, get old crappy short skis and use dashboard cleaner on the base to make them go faster :-)

Hey, you do have good form/balance. Does the sand really pull hard on your legs?

Actually it does pull really hard, but when you lean backwards and get some speed, then it is just like skiing in wet deep snow and it is hard to tell the difference (except the fact that you sweat like hell and ski in swim shorts :-) ), really!!!

I am trying it this weekend for the first time. Thanks for the heads-up on the length as I have a pair of old 207 Salomon's already mounted but I will go mount a pair of shorter skis as well and try them. Cheers!!! Jarl
