The goal was to showcase the story of Peter Hurd - combat artist and wartime correspondent for LIFE magazine - told through his 58 works of pen and ink, inkwashes, watercolors, and egg tempuras. It's the story of the several combat artists whose work not only provided the physical accuracy of a photograph, but a sense of human feelings engendered by war horrors and devastations.
