The Action Center for Education and Community Development, Inc. is one of the largest and most stable community-based organizations on the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens, New York.

The Action Center for Education and Community Development, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to creating and facilitating model programs geared towards stopping at-risk behaviors for disadvantaged youth and their families within the communities that Action Center serves.

In addition, the Action Center provides direct and indirect services to over 33,000 Rockaway families, and general services to the entire 105,000 Rockaway base.

Established in 2001 by a grassroots coalition of business professionals, parents, teachers, and Rockaway Community residents, the Action Center has quickly moved to help fill gaps within the Rockaway community.

Since its inception, the Action Center has experienced phenomenal growth. Serving 200 students in its first year, the Action Center has moved quickly to serve over 2,500 to over 4,000 youth to-date.
