WARNING!!! I say in the video that you can use Debain and since it's in a chroot you don't need to worry about screwing up your Maemo OS. This is mostly true. But, you can still access your Maemo OS partition so you can still screw files up. So, still be careful.

@alexanderssson: The N900 runs Maemo which is a Debian based Linux Distro. I have not used Symbian, but I've heard good things.

Well, I was just asking. I'm really into Android SDK but it is good to know other alternatives too. But yes, my question was regarding if the O.S gives you an option to make calls [chroot]

I assume N900 O.S is Symbian which by the way is a good O.S unlike Windows.

@alexanderssson: In what way? Of course I can make calls with the default dialler, or do you mean with in the Debian chroot? If you mean in the chroot, I haven't tried. Although Debian does have Cell Phone dialling Programming in it's repositories, I really don't see why you would do that when there is a perfectly good Dialler already on the phone. Is there something you don't like about the default dialler?
