The local branch of Marriage Equality held a small but vocal celebration near City Hall in response to the state Supreme Courtís historic 4-3 ruling giving gays and lesbians the right to marry in California. At the University of the Pacific students and staff talked about the significance of the ruling during the "Lavender Graduation," a gathering of about 40 during which three gay students were honored at the end of their senior year.

  • I'm so happy that CA has lifted the ban on same sex marriage, i do hope that soon the rest of the country will follow in the footsteps of those states whom have already made this legal. Oh, and especially a congradulation, and happy celebrations to those in the LGBT community who are taking the large step into marriage
