  • Yes, indeed ! Was a choral scholar in the 50s 60s!

Congratulations on your engagement and hoping great happiness in your future marriage.

Many things have changed. I never saw< the inside of the Eric Tracy Hall for example.I wonder if any of the Lay Clercs date back to my time...

    I think o

it was a great step forward to introduce services for other faiths. Hope the Œcumenicism continues.

Are services still considered "high church"?

  • @1401JSC The new Dean is doing a lot of work on the Cathedral now - they are taking out the pews and replacing them with chairs, and building new extensions onto the Treacy Hall (which is a nice building).

I'm not sure if any of the lay clerks from the 50's and 60's are still with us. Our organist, who has been with us for 30 or 40 years has just retired. The services are still high church.

Thank you for your good wishes. I am hoping all the excavation work will be over by September!

  • Where on earth did you find the resonant acoustic in this great but dry cathedral?

The St Mark's chapel behind the high altar is probably the most resonant space, but you're in front of the altar....

Very good performance! They didn't have that in my day :))

  • @1401JSC I mixed the sound afterwards, although it was a live recording. Do you know the Cathedral? I am one of the servers, and I'm getting married there in September

  • Fantastic performance! Bells are among the oldest musical instruments in the world! Bell collectors, change ringers, handbell ringers -- they are all great!
