Students at Carleton and the University of Ottawa protest against both administrations' bans on the Israeli Apartheid Week 2009 Poster. See carleton.saia.ca (February 26, 2009)
i dont see how banning one poster is an infringement on free speech. There is a different between free speech and hate speach. THis poster is clearly the later.
SHAME on Carelton and University of Ottawa . What happened to the freedom of speech in educational facilities ? There is always two sides to the story and both sides have a right to be heard !
There's an Israeli Apartheid Week on Canadian campuses now?!?!! I hope these students that formed this protest are visa students because this is a sad statement of Canada's future "leaders" if they're not.
SAIA and groups like it are the shame of our learning institutions.
The chokehold that the Zionist lobby has on Canadian universities is even worse than in the U.S. -- perhaps because in the U.S. at least some deference is paid to the First Amendment. Canadian universities openly try to suppress criticism of Zionist expansionism.
a democratic state fulled with human rights? is that isreal?? they country that killed 1300 ppl in 20 days, 80% of whom are innocent, 450 killed the same exact way as the posters showed, a country that kiced out millions of arab ppl out palestine, so they could replace them and call palestine home, in fact i dnt think isreal should be called a nazi state, it should be called worse than that, and by all people, i hope that one day it will be held accountable for the crimes it did
Even though i don't agree with the fact that Ottawa U and Carlton have forced you guys to take down the posters, I have to say that this has probably generated more interest in your cause than the posters ever could have. There are literally hundreds of posters I walk by ever day at Ottawa U, and I only stopped to read yours when I saw someone ripping them down...so let them keep doing it; their resistance is ironically doing more good than their initial acceptance of the poster...
om israel chai!! long live israel! fakestine enver existed.

Would posters criticising the Sudanese government be torn down? Fat chance. There is no Sudan lobby before which to grovel.

I guess Canada is going the way of the U.S. That is complete and total support for Israel and the genocide they commit in the Middle East.
Carleton U is pathedic and I'm ashamed that they are a Canadian University.
