Being self sufficient is price less. I would be happy to be one of the 0.7% or 20%, that means no one has to take care of mee and that leave more space for these guys (long haired hippie types they may be.....) to do their good work......... It takes all kinds.

No body has to spot out a neoconservative fascist pig; they let everybody know how greedy, sadisitc and hateful they are well enough on their own.

good for you guys! But nationally not effective. Thats why you are still alive and why you have not been given the chance to sell out to a government agency or energy conglomerate! Do something that is effective that everyone would want and need and free them from the energy providers! Like the LUTEC magnetic generator that can take a house off grid, or a car that can run on water. THEN everyone and their grandmother will invest in you, if you live!

Did he say trading oil for organic vegetables? These commies are threating our way of life, with all their "grassroots" nonsense. I can spot a commie anywhere the red ones and the new "greeen" ones.

==the figure I've heard is 20% but I can't remember where I heard that...==
Well I was eyeballing it closer to 0.3% myself, but Ron Steenblik seems to know this topic far better than I do, since it's his job.

I think that 20% figure is for waste heat from power plants.
But I agree, it's perfect for your scale
Well, certainly the New Orleans volunteer effort is appreciated.
But assuming we put all the waste vegetable oil and tallow in the country together.
How much of the United States liquid fuel supply could we replace?
0.7% maybe?
