Air France Airbus A380 On Final For JFK Airport - November 27, 2009

A small group of spotters gathered in a shopping center parking lot to watch the approach of this aircraft, Air France's sole A380, into New York JFK International Airport. Later that night the same aircraft, operating as Air France 007 from JFK to CDG, was forced to turn around in Boston controller space and return to JFK when the pilots reported total Autopilot failure.

was it an autopilot failure or an issue with the fuel-pump?? I faced a delay last year on Singapore SQ220 (also an A388) (doin Singapore-Changi to Sydney) coz they reported a problem with the fuel-pump.. and again Qantas reported a problem on one of its A380's doing Melbouirne to LAX (QF93) a couple of months due to a fuel-pumpglitch ... seems like Airbus needs to rectify this rather recurring issue on its superjumbo

If I recall, they had to return to JFK due to an autopilot failure.
