He learned from his upbringing and a good piano teacher then listening and experimenting and working hard and then of course ARt Tatum....Don't try to be anyone but yourself.

As you may know (?) there are many approaches to music. For example, I don’t like Stockhausen, but I recognize his musical capabilities. Same with Peterson – but I just don’t like his approach – prefer, say, Bill Evans or Keith Jarrett. We are not alike, fortunately. Ever heard about the word toleration?
