They're all euphemisms apart from the last which is deliberately ambiguous for the punchline to work, to all those that don't understand comedy or English

@ItsOttis but the whole point is that alan has misinterpreted what lesley has said in the past. (i.e them waiting for someone to meet an accident) and therefore asking that they be more clear, therefore less ambiguous. christ, i can't believe i'm explaining this

@grogew A euphemism is the substitution of a frank expression that might offend or otherwise suggest something unpleasant to the audience, for a mild, inoffensive, relatively uncontroversial phrase. I'd say that fits this sketch perfectly.
