I would almost guarantee these same people that teach an animal to go through the motions of observing their maker, even though theologians credibly question whether animals do at all have souls, are the same folk that are against gay marriage, or consider their existential interpretations superior to that of other folk who follow a different religion, with no empirical evidence to do so.
