Excerpted from the splendid Julien Temple documentary 'Glastonbury: The Movie', this is a brief but glorious grimpse of Quintessence - in between organiser Michael Eavis ruminating on his farming woes - in blistering form as the very first band on the very first Glastonbury Festival is the only moving-image record of any band from that acorn-esque event. (At the time of writing, Shiva & Maha Dev from the band are a week off from appearing at the mighty oak of the 40th anniversary Glastonbury.) A few seconds more from different angles can be seen on the BBC's Glastonbury micro-site. The footage was shot for BBC Bristol's 'Points West' regional magazine show.
