In a heart-pounding finish to the $1,025,981 Ricoh Woodbine Mile (Can-IT) , Turallure, a son of 2003 Canadian Triple Crown winner Wando, got up at the wire in his Woodbine debut Sept. 18.
With the victory, Turallure earned a starting berth in the $2 million TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) Nov. 5 at Churchill Downs as part of the Breeders' Cup challenge series.

Pretty ballsy ride. Very impressive. I don't think Dance and Dance had a more difficult trip than the winner and look how the winner finished.

Great win by the son Wando...but Dance and Dance could have won for fun with a clear trip...the 11 had terrible racing luck. Still, great run by Turallure and a great ride by Leparoux.

Guess this qualifies as a "blanket finish", as 5 or 6 horses were within a length and a bit at the end. With a $1 million purse, one would think the Woodbine Mile would get more attention than it does. Great race.

I agree GBeret83- C-Cat came up too early , especially with that long stretch ahead. Great race though. BC Mile shaping up to be a good one.

I personally felt like Pat Valenzuela went for home just a tad too early on Courageous Cat, and it may have cost him the race? This was only the second stakes win of Turallure's career, as he had beaten Get Stormy in his last start for his first stakes win. Still, I think Courageous Cat was the best horse in the race, and a bit unlucky not to have won the Woodbine Mile. Right One in 3rd and Side Glance in 4th were certainly not disgraced by any means either. JMO.
