The reveal of the onscreen banner / how "NBC New Update" is revealed at the very beginning seems to speak of state of the art (slow) computing of those days... As if to say the news comes in this fast! - A virtual 'flash', but... they still had a ways to go. Post-"ticker tape" but the wire service relays (guess that was the term back then) was probably still printed out as some sort of hard copy text.

The NBC News Update (anchored by the late Jessica Savich) was v/o by the late Bill Hanrahan and "The Little House on the Prairie" and "The Wind and the Lion" promos were v/o by the late Howard Reig.

The Hillside Strangler case was probably the biggest True Crime story of the late 70's

Having said that, I just watched her Lifetime Intimate Portrait and was fascinated and saddened by her lifestory

Poor thing, at least she has peace now

Well, it started out that way, but Hollywood thought it would be too depressing, so they changed it to be more like "A Star is Born"

Nice to see a newscast where she wasn't drunk or coked up . . .

If she had not been such a good journalist then perhaps the end of her life at such would not have been so tragic. But she was VERY GOOD, and that is the shame of it all.

I wish she could have been helped.
