and he said " if you aren't forced .. don't learn it " !!!
and didn't said that is forbidden in islam !
Sorry for bad English ..
Go Ahead Our Islam ..

he didn't say studying philosophy is forbidden in islam, he said its better not to. And for all you who think that philosophy is "not" worthless, try getting a degree in philosophy and finding a job.

Ok the poster should put up the video where viewer can watch the whole context.
This is so modern day brainwashing journalism. just show the world everything out of context. so lame

@xRSCx As far as you calling me "close-minded"
The definition of "close-minded" is, according to this online Thesaurus, "Adj.1. close-minded - not ready to receive to new ideas" - I'm willing to accept different viewpoints, you're not.
I don't care what you say, children are not muslim unless you indoctrinate them to be so. What ever happened to freedom of thought? Even if I'm a Muslim, I don't want to force my beliefs on my children and definitely not on others!
-
You're forcing your children to think one certain way, you're indoctrinating them and you're not giving them the freedom to THINK for themselves. If there was a God, didn't It give us a mind of our own to think for ourselves...? I mean, I thought the God of Islam promoted freethinking and muslims are allowed to think for themselves and to question. Atleast thats what Ive heard from muslims. We can't allow different point of views? We are not allowed to question?

@Faisal0200 Assalam aleikum Faisal!
Unbelievable. I m the close-minded lol
I accept Islam and philosophy and i considere both can work just fine together.
I know, u cant understand, a believer must think one thing, in this case Islam and islam alone.
Peace!
-
@xRSCx Stop being so close-minded about other ways of thinking and beliefs, it's no way to progress.as a nation.
-
@xRSCx So what you're saying is, as Arabs we are not given the opportunity to think for ourselves but instead, we should be indoctrinated from birth to think one certain way and to obey authority and never, ever question? If there was a God, he gave me the intellect to think for myself. For the last time, Ibn Rushd was an ISLAMIC philosopher who talked about the Qur'an and the Sunnah. That viewpoint has NOTHING to do with actual Western philosophy - the Philosphy that this guy is talking about
when a person has no knowledage of something they they critisis islam. All of you guys comming here and making stupid commens should get some knowledage about what islam really is and then you can talk. Come on guys why do you have brians, use them at least once in your life and dont critisis other relgions please Peace ...

Why don't you first go and learn some English before posting your non-sense, stupid comments??
