October 09 iotaSalon Part 1 (Intro, Sylvia Pengilly)

The iotaSalon was held on October 1, 2009 at the UCLA Design | Media Arts department. This video features video selections from the salon's introduction and Q&As with filmmakers Sylvia Pengilly and Joaquin "Kino" Gil. At the iotaSalon, we get together to screen and discuss new experimental works alongside some classics. For this first salon curator Jeremy Schwartz scoured some of the highlights from recent submissions, and curated those with older works from our film collection. The theme for this screening is 'strategies of abstraction.'
