Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S @ 2009 NAIAS

The Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S will make its world debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show and shortly afterward will arrive in dealer showrooms in the U.S., the automaker told Inside Line. The Quattroporte Sport GT S will have a base price of $138,400, including a $2,600 gas-guzzler tax and a $1,800 destination charge.

The Quattroporte Sport GT S is priced $1,000 less than the Gran Turismo S, which starts at $139,400.

Maserati says the Quattroporte Sport GT S is designed to be "a real driving machine in the guise of a luxury saloon."

Power in the 4.7-liter V8 is boosted to 433 horsepower. The front and rear suspension systems get stiffer springs and a lower ride height. Exterior cues include a new black grille with concave vertical fins with the Maserati trident logo, new headlights in metallic titanium finish, and black twin oval exhaust pipes. The cabin gets new M-design seats with perforated Alcantara and leather upholstery.

The unveiling in Detroit will take place on January 12.

@Ennester19 sry but you are wrong fiat don't own ferrari they just have shares in it and work on joint ventures like the 695 abarth alfa romeo owned maserati before they were both bought by fiat so the fiat group only consists of fiat alfa lancia and maserati. and now they're going to set about destroying alfa romeo's reputation by using tech from chryslers as part of thier new partnership just like they have done with lancia. fiat just buy great manufactures and turn them into bullshit.

@Ennester19 Maserati never owned Ferrari, but Ferrari owned Maserati which was later bought back by Fiat. Until Maserati got back its reputation in the automotive world, Fiat kept it under Ferrari and once it has got its image back, Fiat linked it to Alfa Romeo to reduce the production and running costs. Even though Fiat has many brands under its belt, unlike GM, it is successful in maintaining unique brand identities.

I think the Aston Martin Rapide's styling isn't soo incredible, from certain angles it looks ill proportioned and ungainly, it lacks cohesion overall. In UK Car Magazines, journalists and critics have reported, quoted and acknowledged this. In comparison, the Maserati Quattroporte is perfect from all angles, it's beautifully sculpted by the Italian Design House Pininfarina, whose master craftmen have perfected their art, like the great renaissance artists!

I love the Maserati Quattroporte GT S! But I think that this is an overstatement on your part. How about the Aston Martin Rapide? It's not quite spacious and comfortable on the inside as it suggests on the outside, but just about every reviewer calls it the best-looking sedan ever. It would be hard for me to make a chose between the two. And you're right, the new Jaguar XJ is also a very good-looking sedan.
