It's an old Scottish song. Reworked by Robert Burns. The traditional old word for Rush:
(1. an annual or perennial plant growing in wet places and typically having grasslike cylindrical leaves and small green or brown flowers.)is Rash. So it is one and the same thing.
I believe it. You can kinda sing the "green grow the rashes oh" lyrics to this but it doesn't quite line up and it's not long enough. Thanks for making me take a closer listen.

Green grow the rashes, o

The sweetest bed that e'er I got

You guys are great! And there's a verse for when someone's doing this as chin music:
Green grow the rushes o,
Doughboys and molasses o,
The sweetest kiss I ever got
Was down among the bushes o.
Nothing sexual there, I don't s'pose!

This song would be very popular to any Esperantist. "Verdaj la junkoj, ho!"
