Civil Twilight performing "Quiet In My Town" Live at The Loft! The quality is a little bit better on this one because its a mellower song :]
The band is now one of my favorites after a putting on a phenomenal show. These guys have so much talent it's unbelievable. I love their album, but hearing/seeing it live was seriously so insane and such a different experience.
Steven's voice is unreal; I was blown away by his range and clarity. His bass lines are prominent and an integral part of the overall sound, complementing the melody. And the piano is, of course, amazing and beautiful.
Andrew's guitar skills are clearly the product of many years of practice. Accompanying this was his fancy foot work with his huge pedal board, which I took a pic of, found here: http://yfrog.com/6ximg0838cj He absolutely tears it up and gives the band such a unique sound.
Richard's drums were clear, precise, and a perfect mix to the sound. I really liked the beats he was laying down.
The band as a whole is so fun to watch. They were all constantly smiling and looking at each other, clearly stoked to be playing; its obvious that this is their passion. Their life long musical experience is apparent through their overall relaxation on stage.
I cant wait to see them live again. I know they're going to get big, its just a matter of exposure. I was surprised the tickets were so cheap and there were not a lot of people, but within a few months they're going to have a huge following.
Cheers Civil Twilight!
