Info provided by "lalshapla" from UK: "Kobi Gias Uddin Ahmed was one of the great mystic poet (moromi kobi) and pioneer of popularing Sylheti 'ancholik' song nationaly and internationally.He is widely known as the writer of the popular songs 1.Moriley kandis na aamar daye 2.Pran khandey mono khandey re khandey aamar hiaa 3. Sylhet porthom ajaan dhoni babaye diaacey etc. He was born in the village Shib Nogor near Gobinda Gonj under Chhatak upo-jila, District Sunamgonj in 14th august 1935 and died on 16th April 2005.
Kobi Giasuddin Ahmed's ancholik gan such as-1.Syhet porthom azan dhoni babaye diache 2.O'baba shah poran aulia,sylhete ashilaye tumi mamar songi hoia 3.Jai'tha koinnya du'roi shoshur deshre--- 4.Allah'r nam loiya're,nobir nam loiya're ore o paikol bhai boithaye maro tan(shari/ha-ir gan) etc.
Gias Uddin Ahmed's song has been sung in so many nationally organised international events such as SAARC Summit 1985, SIRDAP Conferrence 1987, State visit of the president of Gambia, At the reception of Prince Philip duke of Edin-borough, UK etc.

He was classified as A grade song writer by Bangldesh Radio and television. Gias Uddin Ahmed has 4 published book and writen more than a thousands of songs.He was president of Chhatak press club. May God grant him Jannah(Heaven)."

But it is all about our KOBI GIASUDDIN AHMED. This talented writer passed away very recently. I was just trying to showcase his potential.
