Daphne Koller is enticing top universities to put their most intriguing courses online for free -- not just as a service, but as a way to research how people learn. With Coursera (cofounded by Andrew Ng), each keystroke, quiz, peer-to-peer discussion and self-graded assignment builds an unprecedented pool of data on how knowledge is processed.
With Coursera, Daphne Koller and co-founder Andrew Ng are bringing courses from top colleges online, free, for anyone who wants to take them. Bio:

I am surprised She is taking a huge risk for us since see even admits the danger is poses for many educators and the teacher's union is viciously attacking this idea. Obama proposed this and the idea was cut in the budget. The next election, Obama's highest contributor to his campaign was the "University of California" this group need not be confused with the actual university, but is a cover for the teacher's Union... Thank You Daphne....

Education and indoctrination are often confused. The standard text book answer, may in fact be erroneous? but a student who can see the error clearly, is marked down as a 'heretic', yet a student who learns the official correct answer like a trained parrot, passes the course! Who determines the 'answer'? Hundreds of billions of dollars in corporate profit may be at stake, as with the erooneous hypothesis of 'chemical inbalance' in the brain requiring bogus pharmeceutical intervention? so CAVEAT!

But Does Coursera have sufficient emphasis on Social Science & a little dedicated to it......In a world plagued by conflict , Social Science is the need of the hour :)
