Renewable energy payments or feed-in tariffs create jobs by creating a market for renewable green energy. Homeowners and businesses can install renewable energy systems and then sign a contract with their local electricity utility to puchase all of the energy. The purcahse rate is usually four to seven times higher than the rate charged by the utility. This is a set rate on a long term contract of approximately 20 years. This allows the homeowner or business to determine the exact payback time for the e renewable energy system. This also helps create distrributed electricity generation which increases the resilience of the electricity grid. In German, this plan has created over 400,000 jobs in the renewable energy industry, and is making Germany the fastest implementation of renewable energy in the world. This job creation system is now under consideration in Michigan, which currently has an over 12% unemployment rate. Presentation by Bianca Barth.

  • Good idea.. you steal money from taxpayers (using force if necessary) and pay that to others who can reduce their energy costs and fossil fuel use so that other people on the earth can buy more oil and grow more food and reproduce themselves which creates a huge population problem. Sounds like a healthy system! When is someone going to understand that alternative energy projects are contraproductive if you don't take care about overpopulation?

  • In order to create energy security, conservations and renewables are the answers. This plan focuses on quickly installing renewables in a city, state, or nation in order to replace fossil fuel power plants. Generally, the FIT works along with a requirement for the utilities to steadily drop their consumption of fossil fuels.

In Michigan, the FIT would help reduce coal consumption in Michigan by 40% over 15-20 years. If it isn't implemented, new coal power plants are likely to be built.

  • You didn't understand the feed in tariff at all !

Money for that comes from your electricity bill - NOT TAX money !!!

If use less electricity - you pay also less for other solar or wind systems. Where is the problem ? In countries like Germany, where the feed in tariff created more than quater million jobs. My own electric bill i pay less than $20 per year for that. It doesn't ruin me...

Money is stolen from many other institutions like army, where you waste billions of $ to keep oil running

  • Awesome Video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed check out this site called sl8t.(com) It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 channels up with videos at top in position, this is my forth channel I'm going to working on now.

Sorry for the parenthesis around the com, some reason Youtube will not let you give an actual address in a comment. Real weird. Have a Blessed day!

    I like what i watched.

  • FIT solves the problem for local energy security in the same way that giving drugs to drugsaddicts solves the problem of insecurity by drugrelated crimes. The (energy- / drugs-)addiction stays and both energy- and the drugsaddicts are better off loosing the addiction. Free drugs attracts more drugsaddicts and more energy will result in more people. In both cases demand will keep on rising until other factors stop growth. Energy and population are too related to only focus only at one of them.
