NATS: He walks to the track. NATS: He walks at the barns, often two hours a day, John Lee, The New York Racing Association "This is a horse that gets out of the barn a lot, gets a lot of endurance building, sort of race walking without the pressure of running down the track. If this things plays out I think you'll see a whole way of training horses as a result." The Casino Drive team it will be a winning formula in the Belmont Stakes, where Big Brown will be favored. Nobutaka Tada, Casino Drive Spokesman "To warm up the muscle, tendon, blood circulation and also for the mentality, he's ready to go fast, to move his body. Rick Dutrow, Trainer, Big Brown "I wish that I had a chance to learn what they're doing, maybe it would help me with some of mine in the future." This walking method is very old! we do it alot in Arabia hence why our horse have immense power, endurance and prolonged speed especially in comparison to their size. Walking continously has far better mental and physical building effects than any other gait.

Agreed. When I heard he had Japanese owners, I winced. Hopefully his stables treat their horses differently.

Let's pray Casino Drive is treated better than what happened to Kentucky Derby Ferdinand in that country when he's done racing and siring.

What a shame that Casino Drive didn't get to run in the Belmont yesterday. He would have kicked the living daylights out of that field. Based on his Peter Pan race where he went faster as the race went on ( finished his last panel in 12 seconds flat under wraps), even if he ran his last three panels in the Belmont at 14 seconds each, which is a crawl, (based on his winning time of the Peter Pan), he would have beaten that field yesterday by 5 lengths.
Bring on BB.

STACKED UP AGAINST EACH OTHER, HOW GOOD IS THIS YEAR'S BELMONT OFFERING AGAINST THE LIKES OF AN "AFFIRMED?"
I'm not going to give away the mathematical formula--but it goes like this. Take each horse's G2 races (1 1/8th Mile and greater) and G1 races. Adjust them for distance (requires cross-multiplication) and weight or grade breaks that result in position being held as well as reward their close over the last 1/4 Mile. Only a win by Big Brown could deliver the Triple Crown, however.
