  • hey, this is great my friend. you got more expirience than me on this so i want to ask you something.

in your opinion... if you have the right equipment (we talk about a lot of mirrors, biger size and better quality of course if there is that kind of tecnology) you could evapotate like 10 galons of salt sea water per second??? what you think?

  • I think you would need 2-3 acres of sun with mirrors or Dishes or Fresnel lenses. 36000 gallons an hour is a lot of water. I would suggest preheating in troughs to extreme pressure so it steams rapidly as it is de-pressurized. This could take place on a super heated surface. Are you looking for clean water or salt collection?

  • Hi Dan & Denise

I think I've found the solution to your heliostat problem.

    Hope this helps.

Great series of videos you have done so far!!

  • THANK YOU:-)

I think those videos are really good and offers a lot of info. I wish he would make more videos. Thank you for the post and keep up the great work on you channel.

  • Hey Dan

to increase the amount of evaporated water you need to have more water surface (larger Diameter pot) you have a rather large depth to surface ratio on your "boiler" You need to reverse that.

also Stainless reflects a lot of energy away

    (reason YOU were cooking)

plus the tank tries to cool down on its own being that it is kind of long.

a cast Iron Stew pot might work best.

also try "Exhaust Manifold" black paint (High temp) from any automotive store.

    Cheers

  • Thank you:-) will do for the next video. The BBQ paint on the boiler tank did not hold up to the tight spot. I will buy a can and see what happens. Thank You for the comment.

  • Years A solar power to do vacuum desalination

  • Vacuum desalination produces the cheapest fresh water

  • Use vacuum desalination

  • super stuff really but you need to learn to edit. you could have got this into one ten minute film, i know you get paid but i bet you lose more viewers than you keep and you have such great ideas. take this to vegas and find the right guy you'de be a millionaire...

  • if you had a longer copper tube and some insulation wouldn't the water condense inside the copper tube and drip out like a moonshine still? instead of coming out still as vapor, i think it might be more efficient

  • 104 ºC = 219.2 ºF

The boiling point of salt water. You need even hotter temps to boil as salinity rises.

  • Hi dan wouldn't a cheaper linear lens work just as well if not better? I live in St. Pete I would think using flat mirrors and the extreme summer sun would work just fine,& It seems a shame to see the built up pressure go to waste I have seen some of your other vids I know you have the tech to use the pressure to run a steam or at least a Stirling elec. generator. Thank You, keep up the good work.P.S.let me know if you want to upgrade to a SS beer keg I own a pizeria empty kegs are avail.

  • Or, get a big pan withe a glas lid, and place a soup plate in the pan.

Now fill the PLATE withe seawater, Place the lid back, and set in the hot sun .( at midday in hot climate) the saewater will, condens to clean drops running of the glas into the PAN.

  • If you use the steam boiler that you attached to the steam engine and run the steam into a copper coil to condense like the old fashioned whiskey still, would it distill the water faster?
