This is my very first robot made from off the shelf parts. Instead of using one of those expensive robot kits I just attached an Arduino to a set of Tamiya treads with the optional dual motor drive driven by a cheap h-bridge chip.

It's programmed in C and compiled via the open source Arduino software. Total cost to build was under $99 for a fully programmable and easily expanded robotics platform.

It has no sensor inputs installed yet, but it's simple to add bump switches and all sorts of other neat goodies. This could be easily adapted for simple tasks like line-following with some cheap off the shelf components.

  • did you coded the Program self?

  • Yes, it's written in C

  • get a zigbee module and control it w/out usb cable...looking good!

  • The USB is for power only. The bot has an arduino on board with all the instructions compiled on the microprocessor.

I can swap in a battery, but I like prototyping with the USB cable. Thanks!

  • how do you put it on your robot??? cause i think a robot can't read an .exe file and how did you learned the code i c?

  • hey there hihinxcomics.

im also building a robot and stumbled across your video :D. i have the exact same platform as you but i am having a hard time trying to get my "homework board" to power the motors. maybe we can exchange notes. plz respond.
