They were the days ... When trucks were trucks and the people who drove 'em knew how to work! ... Not like some of the peanuts that are out there now, if they were dogs you'd shoot 'em!

gotta love old trucks

What's the purpose of the mud flaps in front of the front tires?
-
Did/do Mack, White, Peterbilt, Kenworth etc make those trucks in the U.S. & ship them to Australia or did/do they have manufacturing plants in Australia??
-
great work makes me realise that i have it bloody easy ,aircon computer, all the comforts of home. The more vids like this there are the sooner some people might realise that without the trucks and the blokes and ladies that drove them we wouldnt have anything.

When I was a kid cabovers were everywhere in the US too, also long gone here now.
Love the Slim Dusty song too. Wonder if there's anywhere in the northern hemisphere to buy his CDs?
i have many of Slim's songs but never heard this one, would you mind telling me what it is called?

God, can you remember those short wheelbase rough riding cabovers with Hendrickson walking beams ?
Nice pics though, sure brings back memories.
And Slim Dusty was a great guy, met him a couple of times in the middle of no-where.
