"Morning Has Broken," first published in 1931, was written by Eleanor Farjeon, a devout Christian. Cat Stevens recorded it on "Teaser and the "Firecat," but the song itself predates Stevens and has nothing to do with the Muslim faith per se. Cat Stevens' rendition is beautiful.

Cat Steven's music always reflected his peaceful soul..not one of his song's were disrespectful to anybody..no matter his religious belief's.Sensitive and truthful..as refreshing back in the 70's and now. There has been no one else who writes song's like him. I am a Christian and I love his music. Music is a universal . It know no bound's.Peace~

Lol, what's not to understand?

Although Cat Stevens may be Islamic, he has not disavowed music as he is still doing concerts. His last concert was in Beirut, Lebenon in 2012. He is also going to be touring again in 2013. You can learn about his concerts on the web site yusufinconcert. You had stated that you hated that he had turned Islamic because they don't believe in music....well, he does believe in music and he is still actively performing.
