  • you might want to check your motor mounts they look spent.

  • Yeah, theyre a bit worn. This truck definatley has some miles on it, but it still does ok, so Im not worried about it. If I restore it, of course Ill replace them, but just as an around the farm truck, they should be ok.

  • Gotta LOVE that classic AMC/Rambler-sounding starter! It brings back memories of our 1961 Classic and 1962 American. Hot view of the gas pedal linkage too-THANKS!

  • I like to hear it crank too. Nice looking driver's seat.

  • The roads were pretty rough. I busted a center bolt in one of the front spring packs.

Had a couple of spares and fixed it on the side of the road. Ripped off a brake line and had it fixed at a hole in the wall brake shop. Cracked the radiator and got it welded by a 16 year old "Master Welder" at another hole in the wall shop.

  • Yep, thats the 258. I had a CJ-7 in high school with the 258 as well, and I had a 78 CJ-5 with a 304. I wish i could take a year off and drive like you did. Sounds fun.

  • Please do more of these... they're great! Got any of your GM trucks???? The last part in the cab was the best ;)
