That is Tommy Graser, not Monk's son. He wanted to adopt him, but in the end he didn't. But he was really cute.(Mr. Monk and the Kid)
Natalie was crying because she had to tell Monk that her late husband Mitch was not really a hero, because of something he did. Please watch the episode yourself ;) to find out. (Mr. Monk and the Election)
