Golden Elm at Punt Street.wmv

This lovely tree is one of my favourite Elms in Melbourne, and I visit it every time I go down there. I am actually a bit envious of the people who have this beauty as the tree at the end of their street....it totally transforms what would otherwise be a very very ugly road junction...turning it into a joyous spot to sit and be enveloped by the beauty of this magnificent tree.
The tree has had quite a lot of work done to improve the growing environment for its roots and cabling supoprt of its canopy; the 'Friends of the Elms' are a group in Melbourne who work very hard to try and ensure best practice methods are applied to these extraordinarily valuable living assets.
