He had some keyboards wired backwards so he could play complex melody lines with both hands - good luck covering that with a standard keyboard or brain stem...

I saw this lineup - and I remember none of us talked for about an hour after the concert...

i've read he did that to avoid playing worn-out licks just letting his hands go (rather than the brain). Either way, friggin out of this world.

It's weird, because when he plays the melody it really is backwards, and then he changes it back for solos. I don't see the point, but its so cool!
