    Have you seen the rest of the movie? lol. Her manager is a dick, her coworker is a kiss ass, and she's expected to act like both, while being neither. It's a big deal because they expect her to sell herself out. I've worked in those environments, it's just like that :).

    This movie is hilarious, but also terrifying and depressing at the same time. How could it have ever occurred to any human mind to make people working at a restaurant dress like that, and to call all the phony-happy bullshit they make them put on their uniforms "flair"? It's hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time.

    Flair isn't necessarily a badge. It can be anything that makes you look special. Just in this situation the flair is pertaining to badges/buttons.
