  • I noticed that Explorer was a sport model with the 22" wheels, which I know come with more on road performance oriented tires. Did the Explorer stop because of loss of traction or did it not have enough power? I would think the cheaper non-sport models with more off road oriented tires would perform better.

  • @typhoon5000 I agree, there is a way to equip the Explorer better. It was must have had open diffs, because it ended up spinning a single wheel in the sand (just like my old '94 impreza used to do when it was stuck in the snow). Anyhow know the AWD system used in the Explorer? I tried to look up tech docs on it and didn't have any luck. (Mfgs need to be better about disclosing this info on their press sites.)

  • @drivingsports I looked a little harder and found that the Explorer uses the an 8.8" open rear diff with either 3.55 or 3.73 gears :(

  • @typhoon5000 Well, that certainly 'splains that.

  • why not a range rover?

  • refreshing review show...they actually test the cars instead of green screening it. Good job guys

  • this guys voice bugs the crap out of me

  • awd v6 (j35) that should be swapped in a hatch.

  • Subaru is too big of a pussy to throw an AUDI into the challenge.

  • Video Starts at 3:10

  • And that's the difference between an actual off road car and cars pretending to be off road cars.

  • 3:10

  • All i wanted was to see the rx8 do the hillclimb

  • the rx8 was the only good thing about this video
