DO NOT DO THIS

You've taken away 2 of the three safeties of the 1911. What is your point?
1. grip safety.....you ground the tang off.
2. the thumb safety is not engaged
3. "finger off the trigger" is negated by a faulty holster.
I'm sorry, but how is this the fault of the gun manufacturer?
I have to assume some fault by the gun manufacturer by your praise of the STI in not "failing" in the test you present in which any 1911 would fail, given your mods.

I just got my para today and the grip safety is defective, its something i feel is important. each to their own i guess but shit does snag once in a while, hopefully not on your trigger

@ADIKSAPUTOK I think what you meant is Para Ordnance not Para Ordinance.

safety firstbro. gaganda nang baril but as the saying goes " do not fear on the gun but fear the man behind the gun" di ba?
-
@ciasven it certainly isnt safe to be dry firing a pistol against the body.

@bigbenwalla The STI is a "race gun". It's designed to be fast and accurate, not pretty. I'm building a 1911 race gun (not to compete, just for my own personal gratification) in .38 Super. I intend to reduce the powder charge and use a compensator barrel in order to eliminate most, if not all, of the recoil. It will be accurate even in fast firing situations since the recoil will be so low.

@ciasven you are one silly little thing......now, after watching the video that's what you understood....shooting at the ground....wow

Also, whether CCW, Comp, or duty use, 1911s carried cocked should ALWAYS be locked. If the safety interferes with your draw in comp then that is an issue YOU need to work on. I have never seen someone carry a cocked 1911 without it being locked. Not saying the poster of the vid does, but since some of the "uninformed" commented here it was worth mentioning.

I cant say I agree with disabling the grip safety. It would seem to serve its purpose using that style holster, albeit to a small degree. I am not familiar with speed holsters so I cant comment if that is a common issue amongst them. I cant see the grip safety interfering with speed since no shots should be fired until proper grip is achieved. To the others commenting on the holster. IT IS A SPEEDHOLSTER! Competitors use them. Last thing they would be used for is defense, LE work, or CCW.

@ADIKSAPUTOK that would do it.

This is one of the dumbest things i have ever seen...on so many levels...is there a target on the ground, because that is where the round is going? I want to know where this guy shoots so I can avoid going there!

In the video it shows on how the holster flaws and the video was created as a warning to my fellow shooters (with the exception of shooter with a low IQ like u) that is using same holster, dont get me wrong about the holster it is one of the best holster and i am still using but with caution Dumb a*$. I usually shoot at Norco Running guns you are welcome to shoot here A*$ H@le...

You know what? I apologize, perhaps my comment was a little off the cuff. It looks like you were trying to modify the holster in an attempt to shoot faster...as it appears from the rest of your equipment, that you so some ipsc type shooting. A lot of IPSC shooters look for every little place where they can save time. Perhaps your video needs a lead in or introduction to clarify your purpose for shooting. What sort of holster is this? I would certainly avoid using it...even with caution.
