So what are you going to do when you can't afford to feed them anymore and they become dependent on you for food in the winter. Now, the deer will starve, thanks to what you thought was a good idea.

As much as I love them and they seem dependant on me for food, they are absolutely very independant. They still forage for food, and I don't feed them all the time, only when its cold or there is a lot of snow on the ground. Otherwise, they forage for food like normal deer. But every animal, wild and domestic knows how a good easy meal when they see one, kinda like you going to your mother's for supper. Doesn't mean you don't know how to cook, does it?

I see your point, but what about the taming factor and if there is hunting pressure in the area. Isn't this taking the fear of humans out of the equation. Maybe there is no hunting in your area. Don't get me wrong, I love deer and I love to hunt them and having them feed out of my hand would be pretty cool. Just thinking of the consequences....ps, are those mule deer...awful big ears!

There is no hunting in our area. You have to be 1 mile from any road, and you can't go in any direction around here and be more than 1/2 mile from any road. As for taming factor, they are pretty smart, they only go to people they know. If I have friends over, the deer won't go near them.  Yes they are Mule deer, but they are more like horses. Very intelligent. They come like horses when you call them, but not all of them will get as close as these ones.

I have neighbors that used to hunt, but won't any more since they are feeding these deer too. Once you spend time with them, you realize they are not stupid creatures put here to eat. It is a lot like going out and hunting your family dog. I like meat as much as the next person, but there is plenty of beef at the grocery store, there is no reason to go out and hunt anymore. It would be like shooting bambi.... and who wants to be labelled a Bambi Killer?

For those interested, Genesis 27:3 - "Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison."

It's no big deal to me, I'm an atheist; but I've seen a compilation of Biblical verses supporting hunting and it is

substantial.

That's your opinion. The fact is there are many verses in the Bible that support hunting.

Wild game meat is part of the perfect diet, and I think human beings should be on the diet we evolved with which is wild game, fish, greens, berries, fruits and nuts. Just add exercise.

Especially children during their growing years shouldn't be on a vegetarian diet. Don't even get me started on the evils of agriculture, which (not hunting) is near the top of the list for destruction of this planet.

"Chrstian bowhunters" is a blasphemy to God and what they are reading in the bible is mans words not of God. God is of mercy and kindness and nothing to do with pain and suffering to innocent sentient life for man's self gratification. .

keep caring for the deer and feed them, the wildlife serial killers just want the deer to be hungry so they will go to their bait. Keep them on your side and save them from the evil work of the devil

but its ok for the hunters to give supplement feeding and even baiting like in NJ . As far as Division of Nature Rapers are concern so long as they are making blood money you can feed them so wildlife serial killers are allowed to bait, (in some states not) but still they are allowed supplement feeding for large antler growth and herd size growth. HYPOCRITES!
