  • Does anyone know why some of them are wearing medals?

  • @harrietgate They will be RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) awards. Look up "RSCM Voice for Life" on Google.

  • does anyone know the name of this particular harmony (if there is one?)

  • It's usually Edgar Pettman's. Don't have the music though to check how his sounds exactly.

  • This is a most beautiful Christmas carol and this has to be one of the purest, heartfelt, angelic renditions I've ever heard of this song. Brilliant.

  • Music is one of the most beautiful phenomena of the Universe.

  • @namf2807 - I believe it is John Rutter's arrangement of the ancient Spanish carol.

  • @cantorisdecani

They're a professional cathedral choir, they're not RSCM affiliated. The medals themselves arent RSCM medals.

  • what could be more beautiful...

  • In this version the part when they sing Gloorr-or-or-or-orrrrrrrrrrrrr - ria is how it's supposed to be sung. In some versions they seem to add an extra Orr in straight after Gloorr. If you listen to different versions you'll know what I mean. The way they sing it here has always sounded much better to me.

  • This is such a beautiful and hearfelt rendition and the children look so eager and wide-eyed that it makes me very sad to think that it was children just like these that were molested by church clergy.

  • Wonderful carol, we sang this at Mass on sunday, and it was wonderful.

  • beautiful

  • this is really beautiful

  • You're all wrong.

    Gold is for command officers,

    Blue is for science officers,

and Red is for engineering and security.
