This group spent a weekend in May 2008 discussing resources that street involved Aboriginal youth can access to foster healthy lifestyles. This conversation was framed through a process of community building activities, interactive cultural presentations and a hosted discussion on Against the Odds: A profile of marginalized and street involved youth in BC (2007). In 2006, the McCreary Centre Society surveyed 764 street involved and marginalized youth in communities across British Columbia. 54% of youth in the survey were Aboriginal. The findings were published in this report. This discussion about culture, values and health preceded and informed a media literacy segment where the youth created a video related to the theme.
