In this video I am discussing my involvement with the development of Native Instruments True School Expansion Pack for Maschine, Maschine Mikro and iMaschine. True School is a project that was created with Native Instruments in order to provide authentic Hip Hop drums and instrument sounds in Maschine format. Some of the sampling for the library was done using my own equipment (SE-1 and ATC-1) as well as a myriad of rare analog synths. On top of the sound design aspects, I also produced two of the demos in this product; one of which is played in the video. I am also discussing my transition into a new dedicated workspace. I recently decided to work away from my home studio so that I could have a dedicated place to record and engineer projects. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

What drove you to that break-----> change in that track ? It was awesome ! It was like a total other song within a song. I find changes difficult. Although the second part was like another song, it was relatively similar to the 1st part...

Besides maschine, I know you go back and forth from logic and live. Do you still like Live better? I saw the video you created to use logic and maschine but I'm having beat block coming into all this new equipment (Logic and Maschine). Trying to figure out a good workflow to get back into doing what I love. Any ideas?

Do you know what a old school hip hop beat is? Because it sounds to me you have NO idea. Listen to Stetsonic, Talking all that Jazz, or PE My Uzi Weighs a Ton, Eric B and Rakim Don't sweat the technique etc etc . and get rid of the strings for fucks sake, bring in the hard samples man. And show the old school heads what you can really do.

@britcorefan1 fam....its almost 2012, we gotta expand our abilities beyond that. If you want to continue to reference the old school sound, continue to DITC. You should never look for a sound pack to hand you the samples that made those albums classics. If you are truly an old school head you should value having unique records that other heads aren't up on. You should really take some time to analyze what made those records unique for their time. Its time to create new music, move forward fam.

@Altruwest With all due respect. when did I say I want a sound pack full of samples? Do yourself a favor.. go on youtube, and then search for the old school hip hop joints... and then read the comments.. The people are crying out for the hardcore sound..
If you give me a email address, I am more then happy to share some beats with you, I have been doing it since 1988....

@britcorefan1 Respect Fam, continue doing your thing. If you recognize that there is a need for that sound, be a frontrunner and meet the demand! I work my lane and don't claim to be an old school head, thats not my class nor my generation. Share your beats with the world, not with me...I cant help you meet the demand personally. Im very aware of what old school is, thats already been done and Im not about repeating the past personally. You just gotta do you.
