Truth be told, my wife bought me an umbrella swift for Christmas so that I could do this by myself. She was holding a skein of mohair while I wound it on the ball winder. It was quite the pain in the behind since mohair likes to stick together. Using the swift prevents this from happening AND WAY FASTER.
