  • @jeryd2003 Good point. In the corrupt music business of the 1950s outright theft of songs was rampant BOTH WAYS. However The Col. never stole a song. He was far better than most during the corrupt 50s. Btw Elvis got 1/3 writing credit on 9 out of approx 700 songs he recorded. It was first offered to him by writers of Hearbreak Hotel, the Col like it so asked (not forced it) for the next 8 songs. E didn't like it so it stopped. Otis Blackwell states that 1/3 shared writing ended with All Shook Up

  • "Elvis and I are the only true American originals." --James Brown "Elvis is the greatest that ever was, is, or ever will be." --Chuck Berry "Elvis is God-given. There is no other explanation." --Little Richard "Elvis is the best ever. The most original." -Jim Morrison, The Doors "A messiah comes along every few thousand years, and Elvis was it this time" -Little Richard "No Sweets. No Elvis." --Elvis Presley (refusing to play at Houston Asterdome when told his black singers weren't welcome)
  • @corn730 AND ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT GREAT BLACK ARTISTS. He stole nothing from blacks. NOTHING. He sang SEVERAL genres and was even more influenced by country and gospel music. You people are just nuts. Col. Parker was far better than most in the corrupt music business of the 1950s. The Col. never once stole a song EVER. But OTHERS DID ALL THE TIME. Chuck Berry tells openly he OUTRIGHT STOLE Maybellene and Johnny B Goode (huge R&R songs) from white men. It is a fact.. And he did take full credit.

  • @corn730 You are very silly person. You read the layman's level of knowledge on everything. elvis never got credit for "black people's stuff". Such as what? Black artist like Ray Charles, Fats Domino and Chuck Berry sang songs written and recorded by white people constantly!!!! Elvis recorded some songs written by blacks and it was STEALING? His biggest hits (heartbreak hotel hound dog jailhouse rock) were written by whites. And he ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT GREAT BLACK BLUES SINGERS AS INFLUENTIAL

  • the duck walk had been done in the 1920's 1930's 1940's by (white people) chuck berry stole the duck walk from white people. who ever said black people were thieves? well i did!

  • freshchaz and just to let u know i agree with u

  • kathryn8169 ok u need to calmm down and read my comment over again and CAREFULLY elvis got credit for black peoples stuff he got credit for some of chuck berry songs and the duck walk, now thats not elvises fault at all. Just he has no conscience he took the reward withoute saying something the people who madfe the stuff he did he didnt thank them r anything he gave them no credit at all. Now chuck was never in the duck hall of fame and he invented it elvis took his credit so he sholdnt get shit

  • @freshchaz elvis should not get shit? excuse you! nobody ever said elvis invented the duck walk in the first place, did they?

  • @corn730 another one who plays the race card...yawn.your right.if chuck was white,he would've been more successful sooner.but he was'nt.that was not elvis's fault and he did not deliberately step out the door one day and say to himself 'im going to copy chuck berry' he was just himself.anyway chuck obviously was recognised for his talent so what is the problem?

  • Um im sorry to say this but elvis stole alot of songs from the real king of rock n roll chuck berry and he also stole his duck walk and he got the credit for it. In my opinion since back then times were so racist, thats why chuck berry didnt get recognized for his talents. Now if chuck was white people would go crrazy for him and call him the king of rock n roll but watev we all know chuck was the FIRST AND ONLY KING OF ROCK N ROLL GO CHUCK!
