She would have been the definitive Butterfly for all time if the Met had allowed her to sing this opera. Ditto with Tosca.

Rosa sings this with a subtle emotion and vulnerability that astonishes.
Thanks so much.

My God, what beauty. Rosa was only 22 years old at the time of this recording, a perfect age for the very young Cio Cio San, and sung with such heart-breaking passion and clarity of tone. A perfect voice, used utterly to perfection. The only rival to Rosa's interpretation was the great Emmy Destinn. Thank you for sharing this amazing recording.

when I fall into a rather melancholy state, as i often do when listening to great singrs of the past, I always think of the words of Wordsworth. Though nothing can bring back the hour of spendor in the grass, of glory in the flower, we will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind. In the primal sympathy that having been will forever be, in the joy that springs out of human suffering in the faith that looks through death, in the years that bring the philosophic mind. Thanks

Hey. I was wondering if you could tell me what orchestra this is? And possibly any more details about this recording. I would be really grateful as I'm writing an essay on this recording and if I had abit more information that would be really helpful :)

Tellement belle voix du passé , parvenue jusqu'à nous cependant ...
Je t'embrasse .

Les aigus font "tûût",mais il y a une densité humaine et musicale dans cette version.
Compliments et merci pour le post !
