How does one explain contemporary art to parents?
I have organized a lecture. I tried to explain to my parents the key moments in the history of art that in my opinion are the most significant for development of art of today. We also talked about the art market, institutions and evaluating problems. The video is part of my art project "Contemporary Art for Parents" from 2002 which consits of texts, photos and video. • Thanks for the clear explaination as a start. Now I need to know the role of art in our society, and the importance of business as a magnitude to evaluate anything.

  • Good job summing up contemporary Art...but I believe the Artist decides, what is Art... and the curator only confirms what is appropriate Art for their gallery or museum; furthermore, they judge whether or not the Artist is at there perceived level or worthy of showing at their space.

  • Much Interesting this video.

    Gostei.muito enteresante.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE, grandmafottz.

  • One problem though, it doesn't have to be in a gallery to be considered art.
